Training Center

Our training center helps ensure continuing education to therapists by offering a series of professional development seminars. A unique emphasis of this continuing education program is its collaboration with Idaho universities, school districts, state agencies, family physicians, pediatricians, and other non-profit organizations that serve children and families.

The training center strives to be the first choice for training in behavioral health issues affecting children, families, and those who serve them.

This training is curated specifically to support those seeking to strengthen their skills, confidence, and cultural fluency when working with clients across racial, ethnic, religious, and LGBTQIA+ identities.

These are the goals of the training:

  1. Deepen cultural responsiveness
  2. Enhance clinicians' understanding of cultural humility and intersectionality, and how these impact care delivery.
  3. Address historical trauma and health disparities
  4. Explore how historical and systemic inequities shape the mental health experiences of marginalized communities.
  5. Equip clinicians to navigate challenges with families, schools, and policies that may not support a youth's identity.
  6. Share practical strategies for adapting evidence-based practices to align with diverse cultural worldviews and family dynamics.
  7. Identify clinician blind spots and build capacity to create affirming, inclusive and effective therapeutic relationships.
