Our Focus
Our focus is on delivering outstanding mental health care services to children with empathy and compassion. We are dedicated to challenging mental health stigma and ensuring that every child receives the support and treatment they need.
Programs + Services
Youth + Family Counseling
At the Children's Home, we are dedicated to offering a range of counseling services tailored specifically for youth and their families. Our approach is rooted in accessibility, affordability, and a comprehensive understanding of mental health care.
Psychological Evaluations
A psychological evaluation can provide essential insights that help kids and families navigate emotional, behavioral, academic, and social challenges. It serves as a tool to better understand a child’s unique needs, identify appropriate interventions, and track progress over time.
Nature-Based + Animal-Assisted Therapy
This unique approach to healing that harnesses the therapeutic benefits of nature and meaningful interactions with animals and plants. Set in a peaceful and welcoming farm environment, this form of therapy provides clients with the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities like tending to gardens, caring for animals, and cultivating herbs.
School Program
Our School-Based Counseling Program places licensed counselors directly inside Taft Elementary, Timberline High School, Future Public Charter School, Idaho Arts Charter School, Canyon Springs High School, and the West and Ada Boys & Girls Clubs, ensuring students have access to mental health support in a familiar and supportive environment. By embedding services where children already learn and grow, we reduce barriers to care and truly meet kids where they are—academically, emotionally, and physically. As the need for youth mental health services continues to rise, we are actively expanding our partnerships to reach even more students and families across our community.
Training Center
Our training center helps ensure continuing education to therapists by offering a series of professional development seminars. A unique emphasis of this continuing education program is its collaboration with Idaho universities, school districts, state agencies, family physicians, pediatricians, and other non-profit organizations that serve children and families.
Internship Program
Our interns are working on the front lines with children, youth, and their families. Interns will be working with an established organization of caring professionals providing specialized mental, emotional, and behavioral health care services and programs to children and family members.
